explore art as a career or lifelong interest. Following a six-year cycle, this National project provides opportunities to learn about and create through a range of art mediums: painting, fibers, printmaking, photography, clay, and an open medium selected by the council.
Activities include museum visits, meeting working artists, participating in workshops, exploring
art from other cultures and, of course, making art! The final component of the project is a
council-wide art exhibit in a public venue where Camp Fire shares art and art experiences
with the community.
Camp Fire’s traditional recognition items—beads, certificates and emblems—are awarded upon completion of project activities. Camp Fire’s National Art Experience emblem is diamond-shaped, symbolizing creation. The hand and star
symbols stand for personal creativity.
Participants in any Camp Fire program may take part in the National Art
Experience through local councils.
We are excited to see the creative treasures for display in this coming year.
Michigan’s Southeastern Council will host the Camp Fire National Art Experience on April 27th, in Briarwood Mall
of Ann Arbor, MI.
See last year’s winners below. Additional information soon to come.
